Fast charging for the Kia EV6 at the Electrify America stationDC fast charging (DCFC) is one of the energy gain protocols in electric vehicle batteries. Direct current, or direct current, is a connection used to charge an electric vehicle. Since batteries are direct current devices by nature, alternating current (AC) must be converted to direct current before you can use it to charge the battery. A DC fast charger performs this conversion inside the charging station, allowing the DC device to charge the battery more quickly than a system with an in-car converter or an external charger.
