A teaser image provided by Subaru shows the outline of the upcoming 2024 Impreza HatchbackThe all-new 2024 Subaru Impreza will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which begins on November 18.

We’d like to tell you more, but that’s all the information Subaru has provided so far. A mysterious teaser shows that the hatchback model is still in the plans but reveals nothing else.

Today, the Impreza 2023 is popular with a lot of dealers with its standard all-wheel drive (AWD), solid resale values, and reasonable price (starting at $19,795 plus $1,020 for destination and handling). However, it is an old car, last redesigned in 2016.

It falls outside the top ten on our list of the best compact cars based on its relatively weak 152-horsepower base engine and aging platform. Redesign can fix these problems.

The Impreza competes with several more modern designs, including the refined all-new 2022 Honda Civic and the assertive Hyundai Elantra with an extended warranty. The new design could do a lot to pull it back into the heat of the competition.

We’ll bring more information as the Los Angeles Auto Show approaches.
