Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Truck Front Quarter CornerMercedes-Benz has issued a recall alert for approximately 124,000 Sprinter trucks from 2019 through 2022 model years equipped with a manual parking brake and a 7-speed automatic transmission. Vehicles can roll while parked.

Mercedes tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that some runners showed unexpected levels of wear on the parking pistol’s steering bushing. If the wasps fail to engage, the truck can roll away even though the gear selector is tightly set to park.

The company will fix the problem with a software update. Recall fixes are always free.
