The mission statement calls for developing a friendly and vibrant community dedicated to skill development for long-term success and global change. “Courage, Integrity, Accountability, Rigor, Diversity, Teamwork, and Community” are the guiding principles (Emory University Campus Life, 2017, p. 1, para 5).
The organization of leadership’s dedication to fostering scholarship and advancing professional growth through training and research is demonstrated by the website (Emory University Campus Life, 2017). Given that the organization was created on a Christian foundation, its leadership is still dedicated to spiritual care and training specialists who can further caring principles. The organization’s leaders are dedicated to helping the goal, vision, and core values be realized.
From the standpoint of organizational culture, the organization shares a commitment by its constituents to developing professionals who can advance both the individual and society. The community is based on the necessity of delivering a high standard of care to all stakeholders, learners, community members, colleagues, and leaders from the perspective of the internal environment (climate) (Olson-Buchanan, Bryan, & Thompson, 2013).
The problems are extremely important to a nurse leader because they are markers of an organization’s commitment to professional growth and create a supportive environment for nursing students and other stakeholders (Schuh, 2013). In this situation, the nurse leader improves the organizational climate and culture.
