Gallup’s Strengths Finder
I realized that I possess the talents and abilities required to be an effective leader in real-life situations after completing Gallup’s StrengthsFinder assessment. The results provided important information about several things I can perform as a leader organically. For instance, I may use the results to enhance my leadership potential by developing my gifts into strengths.
The assessment taught me that five themes, including futuristic, relator, intellection, learner, and responsibility, reflected my leadership characteristics. As I assess my skills, I will consider these ideas and how I may develop my leadership qualities. The “futuristic” theme demonstrates my capacity for inspiring others with a vision and my future-focused leadership style. I appreciate collaborating with people and finding delight in teamwork as a “relator” (Sethuraman & Suresh, 2014). The “intellection” concept serves as the foundation for talent. I enjoy being intellectually stimulated; thus, I enjoy having thoughtful conversations. I am driven to continue learning and grow professionally as a “learner.” Lastly, my aptitude for the “responsibility” topic demonstrates that I am a responsible leader (Gallup, 2006). When collaborating with others, my priorities are loyalty and honesty.
To become a better leader in the future, I should expand and strengthen a few of my values, talents, and traits. I need to work on two main virtues: respect for others’ differences and humility. For instance, I now recognize that to strengthen the relational theme, I must learn to be modest and respect differences. I should also hone my strengths, including conceiving ideas and persuading others to adopt them (Pardey, 2016). In order to establish interpersonal ties at work, I should work on improving my communication and confidence. My level of influence will increase if I can speak with assurance.
