Introduction
Focus is placed on giving patients safe, high-quality care by healthcare experts. When providing care for their patients, providers from many professions work together in various contexts. For instance, working in a team to manage challenging clinical conditions is typical for doctors. As a result, the profession’s members are required to cooperate and communicate efficiently in order to provide high-quality results (Matziou et al., 2014). However, one of the areas of healthcare that continues to be troublesome is nurse-physician communication. Although they both acknowledge that their relationships are not at their best, nurses and doctors value teamwork. Understanding the effectiveness of nurse-physician communication in a healthcare context is essential to putting feasible solutions into place since the strained connection interferes with their capacity to satisfy the requirements of their patients.
Mission Statement
It is essential for nurses and doctors to communicate effectively if patients are to receive high-quality, secure treatment. However, the two professionals’ relationship is not always a good one, which hinders their ability to best serve the requirements of their patients (Henkin et al., 2016). Even when they are working in high-stress environments like the intensive care unit, they are unable to properly convey information, thoughts, and feelings. They put patients at risk for adverse events including medical blunders and infections picked up in hospitals. The purpose of the practicum project is to comprehend how nurses and doctors view the efficiency of their interactions and teamwork in putting effective interventions to work.
Objects of the Project
The practicum project will accomplish the following three goals:
Identify the nurses’ and doctors’ perspectives on the current communication hurdles.
To enhance communication between nurses and doctors, consider their comments.
Provide nurses and doctors with practical suggestions for enhancing teamwork and communication in patient care.
Evidence-Based Literature Review to Support the Project’s Justification
Since the many professionals collaborate to deliver treatment, effective nurse-physician communication is one of the most crucial variables in deciding patient outcomes. Care professionals acknowledge the value of effective teamwork and communication, but they also acknowledge that these strategies are not always successful in healthcare settings.
